The Original Murdick’s Fudge Beginnings
Sara Murdick opened the doors to Mackinac Island’s very first candy shop, Murdick’s Candy Kitchen, on July 26th, 1887 starting the Pure Michigan tradition by locally sourcing most of the ingredients in her iconic, handmade, confectionary treats.
We still delight island visitors who swarm the white clapboard shop to watch our old-fashioned, painstaking process to create each of the over 20 delectable fudge flavors. If you are unable to ferry to the island and join the birthday party, we will handcraft our mouthwatering fudge to be packed fresh and shipped directly to you.
